Any ideas what this could be?
Dec 23rd, 2010, 8:07am

undecided

A couple months ago I got thrown from a horse and when I fell I kicked myself in the calf with the heel of my shoe.  I had a pretty big bruise and some pain in that area when I ran but I figured it was just from the jarring of the bruise.  Bruise has been healed for awhile now but lately I've been getting a little twinge of pain when I first start to run and then it goes away.  Yesterday I ran and it bothered me more than usual and today I went out and attempted to run but ended up walking after about a 1/2 mile and just came home.  It's a stabbing pain actually it feels like someone kicked me in the leg.  Not sure if it's related to the fall and bruise I had or if I noticed it more when it happened.  Here's a pic of where the pain is located (taken with my night vision camera Wink) Wouldn't you know my new shoes just arrived yesterday and I couldn't even try them out.

I'm not a doctor....and I don't even play one on TV....

If its related to the horse incident, I wonder if it could be scar tissue within the muscle or on some of the connective tissue?  That's my only guess for that.

or it could just be a simple muscle strain that is coincidentally in the same spot.

I'd rest a wee bit and stretch it often

I'd guess scar tissue, too...feel around the area (press in deep), do you feel a knot or anything?

No knot just pain and the pain is in one spot .  I'm being forced to rest anyways now because there is a 1000 acre fire burning 16 miles north of here and the wind is in our direction today Sad

Well looks as though I'm going to have to stop running for awhile cry  Can't keep running on it like this and can't afford to go to the Dr. It's mushy and swollen still feels like someone is kicking me in the leg. On to the bike for awhile and see if I can't get past this.
